valstybė statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Politinė žmonių bendrija, siejama apibrėžtos teritorijos, valdžios institucijų ir vienijančios idėjos, kurią galima apibūdinti kaip nuolatinį poreikį kurti, puoselėti ir ginti savo bendriją. Įv. teorijų kontekste išskiriamos ir pabrėžiamos gana skirtingos šio reiškinio ypatybės. Liberalai mano, kad tai žmonių bendravimo procesas, kuriame susiduria skirtingi interesai, bandoma formuluoti ir įgyvendinti bendrus visos bendrijos interesus. Realistai sako, kad tarptautinių santykių tyrinėjimams ne taip svarbu, kas vyksta valstybės viduje, nes tarptautiniuose santykiuose visos valstybės siekia to paties – stiprinti savo galią. Marksistai mano, kad valstybei svarbiausia valdžios ir prievartos aparatas, tarnaujantis turtingųjų klasių interesams. Konstruktyvistai teigia, kad valstybei svarbiausia idėja: jei yra stipri idėja, valstybė gali išgyventi netgi laikinai praradusi teritoriją ar suardžius jos valdžios institucijas.
